May 7, 2020 - I received official word this afternoon that SB 121, Exempting Maryland Businesses from charging Sales and Use Tax on sales of Aircraft Parts and Equipment.
has become LAW!
This is a huge step forward for job creation at the Hagerstown Regional Airport, and finally puts Maryland businesses on an equal playing field with competing General Aviation support businesses in the Northeast and Mid Atlantic United States!
Thank you to everyone who put so much time and effort into supporting this effort over the past several years. This will be a great driver for attracting more General Aviation businesses, and creation of new, well-paying jobs at our airport!
A BIG shout out to The Greater Hagerstown Committee, The Aircraft Owners and Pilot's Association, and Manis Canning & Associates for their dedication, hard work and perseverance in working to make this happen. This was a remarkable team effort, with so many different individuals and organizations coming together... year after year... working to move Hagerstown and Washington County's General Aviation Industry forward!
Hagerstown has played an extremely important role in our Country's aviation history, and now can begin to do so again, creating business and career opportunities along the way!
